What irks you?

The thing that irks me the most when I'm at work is people saying I'm lazy, especially if the person who is saying it is lazy themselves. I know I'm not lazy and it just drives me nuts. I get really upset and I usually would try not to say anything because well first of all it's at a work place so it's unprofessional no matter what job you have. The first incident was when my manager said I was lazy when I wasn't being lazy and I work hard almost all the time I'm at work. I do heavy lifting on the things I pack out in the aisle. The products come in these totes and you put them on this U boat.

So I flipped out at him and cursed at him. I felt bad afterwards because I'm not the type of person to stay mad for long. I apologized later. Today was the second incident, this girl who works really slow and is lazy herself called me lazy infront of a customer. I wasn't even working at the time. I came in at 9 and worked til 3. I punched out and i just hung out with my boyfriend until he got off work. While i was there i was helping out a little bit by helping people bag or getting price checks. So i just didn't understand what her problem was. She knew i wasn't working so what the fuck.

I apologize for the ranting but I just thought hey maybe you girls have some similar experience and would like to share. =] How do you deal with this?

    I hate it when people at work come to my desk and say "oh, slacking again?" like they don't slack off at work sometimes as well, and I do get my work done. I think that is also my num 1 pet peeve for work. And how is that a way of greeting someone!?

    in these situation perhaps you can ask them to explain the statement to you in a calm voice. if they are just being vicious, it will shut them up.

    oh hunni, don't let them under your skin. Just do the what you have to and get your money, just try and pull back and see it as just 'for the money' ...you will always have some dick at work as long as you get your money, than just smile. Don't raise to it, sometimes the more 'relaxed you are about it' the more it really fuck's them off.
